All of these women seem to be doing well for themselves
All of these women who were founders of the now nowhere-to-be-found "Herbster Witness Defense Fund" seem to be doing well for themselves in the Unicameral. The fact that the senators in our Unicameral have failed to speak out against this corruption, but have instead rewarded these women with votes to head legislative committees is appalling to me. They should have been rebuked. It speaks volumes about the depth of the corruption in our state government.
People think that the corruption could not possibly run so deep and wide within our government. They say that the greatest trick the devil every pulled was to convince the world that he didn't exist. The devil is right there under our noses, playing both sides, one against the other, and inviting us to cheer on the evil. I won't do it. I want accountability. I want to know that those we have in government still know the difference between right and wrong.
I don't expect perfection. And I know some who would argue that we mustn't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. But a failure to hold corruption accountable cheapens the good and robs it of its meaning.
